Semen Analysis

Expertise you can trust.

This test involves collecting a semen sample from the male dog and examining it under a microscope, along with other important checks. It’s like a health check specifically for his reproductive contribution

Why is Semen Analysis Important?

Successful breeding requires a healthy and fertile male partner. Semen analysis is a fundamental tool to evaluate a male dog’s reproductive health and potential for siring puppies before breeding takes place

By conducting a semen analysis, you can:

  1. Confirm your male dog’s fertility status.
  2. Identify potential reproductive issues early on.
  3. Make informed decisions about using the male for breeding.

Progesterone Testing

Pinpointing the Best Time to Breed.

Planning to breed your dog? Accurate timing is key to maximizing the chances of a successful pregnancy. That’s where progesterone testing comes in.

What is Progesterone?

Progesterone is a hormone that rises significantly just before and after ovulation in the female dog (bitch).

Measuring the progesterone levels during oestrus is the most accurate way of finding the time of ovulation and the best time for mating. The most common reason for failure to conceive is mating at the wrong time. The same bitch can vary greatly from one season to another and ovulation can occur as early as 7 days or even over 30 days in season.

By tracking her progesterone levels with simple blood tests, we can:

  1. Precisely determine when ovulation occurs.
  2. Pinpoint the best 2-3 days for natural mating or artificial insemination.
  3. Significantly improve the likelihood of a successful pregnancy.
  4. Avoid unnecessary or mistimed breedings.
